FREE FERRET MAGS BOOKS EAR CLEANSER n OUTFIT (Copiague, NY)

Free!!!! Oh my gosh. For anyone who wants to dress their skinny little ferret up to be the cutest little ugly thing they have ever seen.
I just think that its funny what one person might think that another person wants, and the fact that there is more than likely someone out there who actually does want it.
I am not someone who would maybe use anything for a ferret, but I do my fair share of buying and selling on ebay and craigslist. I have sold and bought a car online, and bought anything as small as a lavalier. I think that the online craze of buying and selling is great, and makes the whole world, or just a ferret outfit, assessable to anyone who wants it.

Video

I thought that the video was interesting, not so much referring to the people, but rather the style of living in another country. I liked seeing the etiquette, manners, attitude, body language, and the manner in which they lived. Although I didn't really like the fact that we didn't get to see where he went with his music or if it worked out for him. The music wasn't really my taste, but as far as that goes. To each his own. The filmography was pretty good, I thought. I liked the fact that I couldn't tell if it was acting or if they were actually a part of what was going on. I also really liked how she played the piano. This is really all I can come up with on this film.

My Favorite Toy

It's funny to me that the first thing that came to mind for me was an old 1970 Opel GT that my dad had sitting in the garage. The look of the car is a smaller version of a 1969 Corvette Stingray in the front, and the look of an 80's Porsche 944 in the back. The car was totaled and never ran, but I loved to sit in it and pretend I was driving at ridiculous speeds. There were many days when I would sit in it for hours pretending that I was being chased by the cops or that I was an officer in high speed persuit. Now that I am an adult I have moved out of the play stage, and moved strait into the real life version my 1969 Opel GT. There's a good chance that if you have been outside on campus lately you've seen me tooling around in it, usually toting a friend to a class. I fell in love with this type of car when I was young, and it now has become my most favorite possession. Pictured above (my little brother Chris with my Opel)

T.V.!!!! Yeah We Love It!!!

As you're surfin the channels daily trying to find something to watch, would you like to see something for mere entertainment or would you like to see something that might educate or motivate you? I know that when I turn on the tv the first thing I do is hit 40 on the remote. Yup Home and Garden Television (HGTV). One of my favorite shows is Design on a Dime. This show teaches you how to decorate your house or apartment with a rather small budget, and make it look good. I think that this is an especially good show because I am in college, and I still like my living space to look good. There are tons of helpful hints on this show to fit any budget, even that of a poor college kid. This show can teach you anything from how to grout your bathroom to how to dress up a cardboard box and make it an effective ottoman. As college students I think that is is imperative that we know how to cut costs as well as possible, and still be able to live the life we please.

Emotion

The last time I can remember having a rather uncomfortable thought or emotion was April 9th. The thought was generated when I was asked to put on the internet the last time I had a extreme emotion. The first thing that came to mind was wow. I really don't want at all to do this. So I am using that though. It is unusual that I don't want to tell someone the way I feel or the way I have felt, but there are just those days when I don't want to put my heart on my sleeve. Sorry that's all I've got for now.

Quit Smoking Ads by Philip Morris

While watching tv you may notice ads by Philip Morris company and other cigarette companies that are marketed as encouragement to quit smoking. When a non-smoking viewer watches these commercials they may think that these companies are doing one good thing to offset all of the adverse effects that smoking cigarettes has on the world. On the other hand when a smoker, like myself, watches these commercials they, rather than make us think about quitting, give us the urge to go have a cigarette. Are there hidden intentions behind stop smoking ads? What does the company really want for their consumer, and what legitimate programs are available to help smokers quit?

Obama's 'A More Perfect Union Speech' v. "Letter from a Birmingham Jail [King, Jr.]"

The most obvious point of difference between the two is the time at which they were written. While King was writing from Birmingham, America was at its height of racial tension. Then when Obama gave his speech he made referrals to the injustices of the past as well as the current intrusive policies.
While Barack used parts of his speech to defend a man for his, less popular, beliefs. King was defending his own, less popular, actions. In the midst of defending ones point, and fighting for something for the betterment of all each man brought his own views to the table. Both men conveyed his point in a well thought-out manner that could appeal to anyone of any belief system. Each man used the Maslow’s hierarchy of human needs from bottom to top. Mr. King referred to the safety of the people of Birmingham, and Barack spoke about each persons possibility to strive for the best that he/she can do, both in life and in work.
Finally each man did a very fine job of portraying his point on a controversial topic in an audience friendly manner.

Spring Break

Wednesday March Fifth at 4 o'clock marked the beginning of Cody's spring break. As he left his Speech class he thought of what the night would bring. The first thing on his mind was that the plans that he and his friends had made to go to North Carolina had fallen through. On his walk back to his truck he decided that he was going to get in touch with his friend Frederich Miller, whom he hadn't hung out with in a couple weeks. Frederich always seemed to put him in a good mood. He is the sort of guy who doesn't have to say anything, but somehow makes you realize what you are thinking yourself. That night Cody, Frederich, Bean, and some other friends got together, and rambled on about school, work, and anything else that came to mind of coarse Fred worked his magic in lightening the mood to a once again uneventful spring break.
Over the coarse of spring break Cody and Fred got along quite well. Unfortunately for Fred break has now come to an end, and now Cody will once again only talk to him on weekends and the nights before Holidays.

The Fam

I guess I really don't have any particular story I would like to tell about my family or any member thereof, but instead I will just tell about them.
My parents started their lives in very different settings. My Dad was born in 1950 in a small town called Mt. Lake. He was born the son of a mechanic and a stay at home mom. My mom was born in the heart of Minneapolis. She also had a stay at home mom, but her dad was a factory worker.
I have two brothers. One is older and one is younger. My older brother, Chad, is the pioneer of brothers. Meaning that he was the leader, as well he should have been being the oldest. He was the first to listen to music that mom and dad didn't, and he sometimes got in trouble for his musical likes. He was also the first of our generation to join the army. Since then he has been the first to get married, and will soon become the first brother to have a baby.
Then with progression my younger brother and I have made changes to Chads pioneering taken our own paths.
I also joined the Army, but changed Chads model by going to college.
Then Chris instead of going into the army decided to go to college right away, and changed my example by going to a private college.
All in all I am very proud of my family, and where we have all gone with our lives. My family means more to me now than they did while I was growing up, and I hope that stays the same or gets stronger until the day I hit the dirt.

Ethanol (friendly fuel or folly)

Unfortunately I haven't done much more than thought into my topic as of yet, but I will be taking much of spring break to get most of my way through the paper. My only main concern for this paper is that I put it in the drop box at the right time.

A Modest Proposal

The problem described in this essay is that of overpopulation and poverty. The Mr. Smith initially proposes that the rich people can have trade with the poor by making a yearling child into a delacasy. Then later in the essay he basically says, "Are you nuts? Don't eat the children. Treat your wife well. Help the poor become useful members of society. Would you have liked to have beet sold as a meal when you were one?" I think that it was effective how Smith completely described his obserd solution for a very real problem just to make people aware of how they were itemizing people every day.

Living Green with Woody Harrelson

The SOL Tour. Woody Harrelson, famous actor and green world activist, spearheaded a journey for a small group of people that impacted the thought processes of so many more. Whether or not adequate proof of the greenhouse effect actually exists is debatable, but the proof that living green is healthier speaks for itself. Throughout the film the entire group was biking down the western coast of the United States. Woody and his Crew stopped in many places along the way selling his point of living green. The filmography was good, and depicted the true documentary itself. I do agree with one of the women that woody talked to about the flying of the upside down flag. In my home town he would've been shot. I also agreed that that gesture almost shut me off to the movie all together. In fact I almost walked out. Aside from that I thought that the documentary itself was good, and it could open up the young mind of a college student. If all other points fail. I applaud Woody for standing up for what he believes.

My Name

My name is Cody David Wiens. My parents never used any traditional family names for the first name. So my first name came from an early eighties movie character who was a child genius. This is funny considering that I don't consider myself overly smart at all. Cody means good helper.
My middle name, David, was my grandfathers and uncles name. Then my last name, Wiens, is only a third generation American name. It followed my German great grandfather to America. Since then it has added many nationalities. I am a quarter German, a quarter Swede, an eighth Norwegian, an eighth French, a sixteenth Scotch, and finally another sixteenth Blackfoot Cherokee Indian. The Wiens name carries a lot of pride. While considering its entire heritage I have had an ancestor in every war that America has fought although we fought for the wrong side in the civil war.

Fun at the library

Question One. What did I learn about researching while we were at the library?
Truthfully, I there wasn't a whole lot talked about at the library that I didn't already know. One thing I did learn was that we can use various search engines to research individual books, and get feedback as well as a book summary on specific books and not have to read them first.

Question Two. What concerns do I still have about my paper?
I think that my biggest concern would have to be that I bit off more than I can chew. I have a somewhat broad topic. It has to do with the American Internment of American citizens of Japanese descent/ ancestry. When I picked this topic I knew nothing about it, in fact I thought it was the American imprisonment of Chinese Americans during World War I. Now that I have done quite a bit of reading and have jotted down my own notes I don't know where to start. Although I do think that I will learn a lot while writing this paper. I also am concerned about how long it will take, but I am going to put forth the utmost effort to make it a very informative paper.

Bitter Cold (a life changing event)

I was born and raised in southern Minnesota. After that I have seen many different climates and lots of different land, but Minnesota is the place I love, but not so much when it’s cold outside. The weather takes no prisioners. When I am on my way to class I sometimes leave early so I can stop at my buddies house, which is half way to school, just to warm up a bit. I love running, but I dislike running inside. So when I go outside in four layers of clothing, still freeze, and then feel the wind. It is way way too cold to dress down, and create my own wind. When I graduate I am going to move into a nice house with an attached garage so I don’t have to walk outside to a cold car, and I want a job where I park in a heated parking area. Bottom line, I love Minnesota, but I hate winter, snow, and cold.

Intro Song

I like a lot of different kind of music. One particular genre that took me twenty years of life to like is country. Within country music I find that part of me that I am most proud of. This is my service to our great country. I find the most accurate description in Toby Keiths "American Soldier". This song came out the same year I went into the Army. Although the first three lines doo not apply to me as I am not a father. Most of the rest of the song does. If I had to go through the song and describe why every line was similar I could type for hours. Most of all I am proud to have served as most of the men in my family have. Although the song does miss one aspect of service, and that is that after my service I will always remember the Men and Women who stood beside me.

My Favorite Spot Ever

Somewhere past the morning twilight, on the southern coast of North Carolina, is a small island called "Oak Island". This is a place with late nights and lazy mornings. In the mid afternoon the only clock you need is a good change in skin tone, and a sweaty, cold Corona. The beach is quiet as the small waves lapp on the smooth sand. In the evening the coast is lined in lights, and the only destination is a small bar called O'Malleys. Then when the kareoke mic is turned off you make your way back to your beachside rental, and dream of the next placid day.
